When is now?  Pinpoint “now”.  You can never pinpoint when it is, because by the time you do, it is gone.  “Now” is elusive.  In an instant it becomes “then”.  Where is “here”? Point to it. If you say it is where you are, six billion others on earth would disagree with you. “Here” is where they are, and to them, where you are pointing is “there.” What color is the sky on a cloudless day? If you said “blue,” you are wrong. It is colorless. If you don’t believe it, view it from space. There is no “sky” at all. How about a “sunrise”? Have you ever seen one? No one has. The sun never actually “rises” or “sets.” Remember, it is the earth turning that creates that impression.

 

           So, of what can you be sure in this life?  Some say death and taxes.  That is not true either – plenty of people avoid taxes.  So if we cannot be sure of anything but death, what on earth is TRUTH?

 

Hebrews 9:27 – “And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

           If you died today, and stood before God in judgment how would you do?  Here’s a quick test: Have you ever lied, stolen, or used God’s name in vain?  Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”  If you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart, and the Bible warns that one day God will punish you in a terrible place called Hell.  But God is not willing that any should perish.  Sinners broke God’s Law and Jesus paid their fine.  This means that God can legally dismiss their case: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  Then Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death.

          

           What is TRUTH? Do you know?  If you ignore Almighty God (the “I AM” who transcends time and space), you will end up as lost as the misguided Pilate of Scripture as he stood bewildered in front of Jesus Christ.  The Roman Governor asked the question, “What is TRUTH?” (John 18:38)  Pilate gazed on Him who IS TRUTH itself:

 

John 14:6 – “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way the TRUTH, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

 

Today you are JUST as close to Him.

Romans 10:8-9 – “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

 

Acts 17:27-28 – “That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.”

 

           Are you going to wash your hands of Jesus Christ, like Pilate did?  Or will you obey Him, and know the TRUTH of the words, “And ye shall know the TRUTH and the TRUTH shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

 

           Right now: Repent, and trust in Jesus, and God will give you eternal life as a FREE GIFT.  Then read the Bible daily and obey it.  God will never fail you.
